VIVISUN® Lighted Pushbutton Switches

NEXSYS Component Options - Switch Body

NEXSYS® Component Technology is available in our VIVISUN® High Capacity or Compact switch bodies, as well as in NEXSYS® Modules. Inside a switch, NEXSYS components can occupy positions that are not already occupied by an electromechanical switch.

Each NEXSYS component is either a Series A, 4-pin device (shown in green), Series C (shown in orange) or Series N (shown in red), 8-pin device or Series R, 12-pin device (shown in purple).

High Capacity Body

High Capacity bodies are a 16-pin device which provides four available, 4-pin positions (H, J, K and L in the diagram). Each Series A (4-pin) NEXSYS component can occupy one of the available four positions that is not already configured with an electromechanical switch pole (also a 4-pin device).

High Capacity bodies can accommodate one Series C or Series N (8-pin) NEXSYS component that will occupy the middle two positions (J and K), leaving positions H and L available for either two additional Series A NEXSYS components, two electromechanical switches or one of each as shown in the illustration below.

High Capacity bodies can accommodate one Series R NEXSYS component that will occupy three positions (J, K and L), leaving position H available for either one Series A NEXSYS component or one electromechanical switch.Unoccupied positions will be configured with an Open spacer.

High Capacity bodies with NEXSYS components require the use of Connector Plug (P/N 18-440). Please note, this connector plug is different than the plug required for switches that do not contain any NEXSYS components.

High Capacity Component Options
Up to four NEXSYS components
in a High Capacity Body

Example: Standard Square, High Capacity Body with;
one electromechanical switch, one Series C component
and one Series A component

Example: Large Rectangular, High Capacity Body with;
one electromechanical switch
and three Series A components

Compact Body

Compact bodies are an 8-pin device which provides two available, 4-pin positions (A and B in the diagram). Each Series A (4-pin) NEXSYS component can occupy one of the available two positions that is not already configured with an electromechanical switch pole (also a 4-pin device).

Unoccupied positions will be configured with an Open spacer.

Compact bodies cannot accommodate Series C, Series N or Series R NEXSYS components. Applications that require the use of Series C, Series N or Series R NEXSYS components must be configured in a VIVISUN High Capacity body.

Compact bodies with NEXSYS components require the use of Connector Plug (P/N 18-442). Please note, this connector plug is different than the plug required for switch/annunciator bodies that do not contain any NEXSYS components.

Compact Component Options
Up to two NEXSYS components
in a Compact Body

Example: Standard Square, Compact Body with;
two Series A components

Example: Large Rectangular, Compact Body with;
one Series A component and one open spacer
