VIVISUN cap displays fully meet the requirements of MIL-STD-3009 with respect to NVIS color and NVIS radiance requirements. NVIS colors include Type 1 Class A NVIS Blue, NVIS Green A, NVIS Green B, NVIS White, and NVIS Yellow A. Additionally, for Class B cockpits we manufacture NVIS Yellow B and NVIS Red.
For non-military applications such as law enforcement and first responders, VIVISUN cap displays offer an NVIS Alt. Red cap that is suitable for applications where aviation red color is required but the NVIS radiance requirements of MIL-STD-3009 do not apply.
NVIS Colors
VIVISUN cap displays are voltage dimmable from full-rated voltage down to specified minimum luminance levels (15 fL for caution/warning colors such as yellow and red and 0.1 fL for advisory colors). Additionally, discrete dimming caps with up to 3 distinct preset dimming levels can be specified to reach the luminance requirements of NVIS compliant lighting (military applications) or slightly brighter levels that are NVG (night vision goggle) compatible (civil applications). VIVISUN caps with compliant NVIS lighting fully meet the MIL-STD-3009 specification and do not require any aftermarket modification. Expensive modifications and unsightly external filters can be eliminated by directly specifying VIVISUN true NVIS parts.
